Pricing/FAQ
How
much will my transcript cost?
We give you the cost up front before we start transcribing.
The cost of your transcript is based on recording length and audio quality. The rate for standard-quality audio is $20 for every 6 minutes of recording. For example, a 33-minute recording would cost $120 (see table).
If the quality of the audio is suboptimal (i.e., poor sound quality, strong foreign accents, multiple speakers), the rate is $24 for every 6 minutes of recording. For example, that 33-minute recording would cost $144 (see table).

How quickly can I get my transcript back?
We ask that you assign your ideal deadline for your transcript. Ideally, we prefer at least 24 hours, but we
can transcribe recordings more quickly if needed. Recordings up to 1 hour can be returned within 6 hours if assigned during business hours.
Transcripts of longer recordings can be delivered back within 24-48 hours.
How do I pay?
We will invoice shortly after delivery of the transcript. Payment is due by check or credit card within 30 days of the invoice.
What if I am not satisfied with the quality of the transcript?
We usually get glowing comments about our quality, not complaints, but if you are not satisfied with your transcript,
just let us know, and we'll quickly see what can be done to improve it.
Do you transcribe microcassette tapes?
No. We work in a virtual system and want to keep the things simple
by working only with mp3 or wav audio files.
It is possible for us to transcribe from CDs-ROMs,
but we'll need more time to receive the files etc.
What about confidentiality?
Recordings are uploaded over a secure, password-protected interface, and recordings are discarded once the transcript has been sent.
We will gladly sign your confidentiality agreement.
How do I upload my files?
Upload your recording here OR send us an email to tell us how to access your recording from your ftp site. If the file is under 5MB, simply email it to us. Please send an email if you have any special comments or instructions. If you have any backup materials that would help enhance the accuracy of the transcript, please email those also. We are glad to format the transcripts to your specifications.
What sound file formats can you work with?
The mp3 and wav formats are preferable.
